Well, Dallas seems to be finally thawing out from some crappy icy weather that we've been under since Monday. I have not worked since Tuesday afternoon. We've been open for emergencies, but running a skeleton crew. I'll probably work again late this afternoon for a few hours depending on what we have scheduled. Gianni and I have had the pleasure of spending the last few days together basically lounging around the house with Benelli. We ventured out to the store yesterday afternoon for a few groceries, but that's been the highlight of our week so far. I've spent the down time working on Baby Shower invitations for Gianni's sister. She is due in April and we are having the shower in a few weeks. I'm so excited for them. It will be nice to have a young one around to ooo and awe over.

What a yuckie day!! I't 24 degrees and it's starting to sleet outside. I'm so glad I'm already home from work because now I can cuddle up with a nice hot bowl of homemade Tortilla Soup. And for dessert, a cup of Hot Chocolate. I'm feeling better already.

Work is very hectic and I end up putting in an 11 hour day. Gianni won't be home until 10:00 that night so I decide to go to a co-workers house to watch the Stars game on her BIG screen TV. She lives in The Colony so I take Dallas North Toll way to her place. Or at least I attempt to. I got in a wreck and ended up being the 3rd car in a 8-9 car pile up just south of the Beltline/Arapaho exit. We were in the center lane coming up over a hill as traffic starts to slow down for a toll booth. I noticed that traffic had come to almost a complete stop and I had to slam on my brakes as I saw the car in front of me was completely stopped. I come to a full stop but just seconds later I'm hit from behind and thrown into the car in front of me, not once, not twice, but three times I'm thrown into the car directly in front of me. Smoke is rolling off of my hood and my radiator is leaking, I can hear the hissing of the hot water as it hits the road. My head hurts but I don't feel blood rolling down my face so I figure I'm ok. The car in front of me pulls ahead so I decide to get off onto the far right hand median, luckily there is enough room that my car can be completely out of traffic and I can get out and walk around. I take a quick glance in my rear view mirror to check out my forehead, no blood, but I do have a few scrapes and it hurts pretty badly. I pull off of the road to get out, the very first car involved has already pulled off of the road. The driver comes over to check on me. Her vehicle has very minimal damage, thank God. I looked behind me and notice that there are at least 4 other cars pulled off of the road behind me so I get out and go to survey the damage. My front end is CRRRRUNCHED. My back end is not as bad. There are several gouges and scrapes in my back bumper and the trunk is off center and hanging down a bit plus I cannot "pop" open the trunk from the release inside my car. My stereo has completely popped out of my dashboard and is lying on my floorboard. I realize that the car immediately in front of me that I had been thrown into has driven off. So has the car behind me that hit me 3 times. They seem to be the only vehicles to leave the scene. My damage was bad, but it could have been a lot worse. I call my friend and let her know I'm going to be late, "in fact...do you think you can just come pick me up?". Then I call Gianni to let him know what has happened and that I am ok. The State Trooper and tow trucks arrive just before my friend does. I give my statement and then head up north to The Colony. Gianni calls me right as we are pulling into my friends house and tells me he is on his way over. He was very worried about me and was leaving work early. He meets me at my friends house and takes me home after the game is over. I'm battered and bruised, but still alive and that's really all that matters. I'll post pictures of the carnage later this week after we go and inspect the car. I hope everyone had a safe and happy heart day.
