Taurus Yes, I have been a bit too busy to socialize lately and I miss my friends. It's not like I can't just e-mail them and cathch up with them, but sometimes you know the other one is busy too and you don't want to disturb them so you go for weeks without hearing their voice. You used to talk to them daily over the phone catching up on the days events, now you read their blog to see how they are. I miss my friends and I need to let them know I'm still here.

Well, we did it...or rather he did it. My husband has just officially entered the "bolg community". Yes folks we have yet another among us to read and laugh with. Please welcome Gianni Martini to the web. There were a few tense moments, but I still have all of my hair. ;-) Have fun sweetie. I love you.
Rebecca, I am so happy for you both. It was a pleasure meeting you at SXSW this year. I hope to see you again next year.

Whew! I've finally gotten some of the family photos from our trip to Colorado on-line. It was my Grandmother's 90th Birthday and we had a family reunion to celebrate. I'll try to have more on-line as work and time permits.
A group of us went to a Rangers Baseball game Tuesday night, not to see the Rangers paly, but to see Cal Ripken. The Rangers won and we had a great time. The Ball Park in Arlington is awesome. It's so much nicer than what I grew up with as a kid. When I was young you went to the game and, I kid you not, sat on bleachers. It was hot and you felt like a sardine if the game was packed. Anyway, Tuesday night Trent made a bunch of sandwiches and Katie brought some really kick'in chips and we had a little feast at the ball park. Oh and we paid $5 a beer. Did I mention it was really hot that night? The chips that Katie brought were called Boulder Chips and yes, they are made in Boulder Colorado. They should have been called Bolder Chips because this one flavor that she brought was sooo hot we could hardly eat them. They were the Habanero flavored chips and they don't have little flaming hot peppers on the front of the bag for nothing. If you like hot food, and I do, then you've gotta try a bag of these babies for yourself. Katie said she got them at Whole Foods, but I bet you could get them at almost any "health food" store. They're kettle cooked chips and they are made with all natural ingredients. I've had some of their other flavors and they are delicious too.
Hmm...that's interesting. Judas Priest is apparently coming out with a new album. Gosh! I though those guys were dead. ;-)

I know exactly how you feel Jish. There are a total of 5 Starbucks in the 10 block raduis surrounding my neighborhood in Dallas. When I lived in L.A., it was a Liquor Store on every corner. Here, it's a freakin Starbucks. Hey, don't get me wrong I would prostitute my Husband for a Mocha, but there is no way I can patronize every single Starbucks around my apartment. Well, maybe if I tried really hard.buzzzz
Oh Yeah!!! I am sooo doing the happy dance right now. I had an excellent interview last night which turned into a new short-term consulting contract here in Dallas. I'm extremely excited to be starting a new project. :) Thanks to all for your love, support, positive vibes, job leads and of course references. Love to all!!!

Hmmm...I was just told that I might be in the market for a new car very soon. That's fine with me. I'm never one to pass on something shiny and new. ;-) I already have a very reliable car, but I was told that we were going to get me something with all-wheel drive for Colorado. So, I decide to take a quick look-see on-line to see what I could come up with. The good news is I found out that we should be able to get out of my current car just about what we spent to buy it. Odd huh? Not really, it's a Honda and it has extremely low milage for the model year. I just went and checked the Kelly Blue Book value for it and was very happy with what I saw. So, here's the current delima, do I go for broke and get a really kick butt Acura NSX (yes I'm drooling) or do I go for the good 'ole reliable, but cute Subaru Impreza? On the other hand, I did get to drive a very nice Audi A6 while I was in Denver. SWEET!!! However, I do have it on good authority that the Jetta has mondo room in the trunk. I'll probably go for the RSX, it's very cute and not over priced. Decisions, decisions. :)

Yes, it does indeed look like my Husband and I are going to try to move to the Denver area. We've been discussing this for a few years and the time seems to be right. I have a lot of family out there and every time we go to visit we come back home ready to move. This time it's official, we are seriously looking for jobs out there and would like to move in the next few months. My cousin’s family has graciously offered their basement to us for as long as we need it. I'm not talking about some cold unfinished lower level of a house either, this basement is completely carpeted, has a full bathroom and a finished bedroom in it. We will be living in style while we're looking for an apartment. Again, thank you guys, that is such a nice offer. When we got back from Co. I e-mailed Dink to give her the news. While she is happy for us she is very unhappy that we will be leaving Dallas. We have been very close friends for about 3 years now and I love her dearly. I told her not to worry, we would be back for the upcoming nuptials in Feb. we would not miss that for the world. Dink and Billy have been close friends and you don't forget friends like that when you move. So, if any of you live in the Denver area or have friends who do, please drop me a line. I'm trying to come up with a list of Advertising agencies in that area to send my resume to. My Husband is a Systems Administrator so I'm not too concerned about him finding a job out there right away. I will continue to do freelance design work, but I'd really like to find a full time job out there as well.

I am such a whimp. I sit here in the 90 plus degree weather now and can only think about getting back to the cool mountain breeze that calls my name. I was totally miserable last night. The apartment just wasn't cooling off. I think I finally fell asleep around midnight or so out of sheer exhaustion. We had been on the go non stop for over a week and my poor body had reached it's limit. I wanted to sleep in today but we had to go do a few last minute errands. At least tomorrow is Sat. and we can both sleep in late.

I got this one from my Uncle in Oklahoma...this is so true. Driving rules for the city of Dallas 1. You must learn to pronounce the city name. It is DAL-LUS, or DAA-LIS depending on if you live inside or outside LBJ Freeway. 2. Forget the traffic rules you learned elsewhere. Dallas has its own version of traffic rules....Hold on and pray. There is no such thing as a dangerous high-speed chase in Dallas. We all drive like that. 3. All directions start with, "Get on Beltline"...which has no beginning and no end. 4. The morning rush hour is from 6:00 to 10:00. The evening rush hour is from 3:00 to 7:00. Friday's rush hour starts Thursday morning. 6. Construction on Central Expressway is a way of life and a permanent form of entertainment. We have had soooo much fun with that, that we have added George Bush Freeway (aka 190) and Jupiter Roads to the mix. 7. All unexplained sights are explained by the phrase, "Oh, we're in Fort Worth!!" 8. If someone actually has their "turn signal" on, it's probably a factory defect. 9. All old ladies with blue hair in Mercedes have the right of way. 10. Inwood Road, Plano Road, NW Highway, East Grand, Marsh Lane, 15th Street, Preston Road... all mysteriously change names as you cross intersections. (These are only a FEW examples) The perfect example is what is MOSTLY known as Plano Road. On the south end it is known as Lake Highlands, cross NW Hwy and it becomes Plano Rd, go about 8 miles and it's briefly Greenville Ave, Ave K, and Highway 5. 12. It is possible to be driving WEST in the NORTH-bound lane of EAST NORTHWEST highway. Don't let this confuse you. 13. The North Dallas Tollway is our daily version of NASCAR. 14. LBJ is called "The Death Trap" for two reasons: "death" and "trap." 15. If it's 100 degrees, Thanksgiving must be next weekend. 16. If it's 10 degrees and sleeting/snowing, the Fort Worth Stock Show is going on. 17. If it's rained 6 inches in the last hour, the Byron Nelson Golf Classic is in the second round, if it is spring, and it is the Texas State Fair, then it is fall. 18. Any amusement parks, stadiums, arenas, race tracks, airports, etc. are conveniently located as far away from EVERYTHING as possible so as to allow for ample parking on grassy areas. 20. If your Mapsco is more than a few weeks old, throw it out and buy a new one.
Well, we just made it back from our WONDERFUL trip to Colorado. We had a great time and really enjoyed the break from the blistering heat. We're still unpacking so I'll have to make this short. I have so much to talk about...there is a possible move for the Pretty Pink Tutu Team in the very near future. More details to come.

WAY TO GO CAL!!! It's been 10 years since your last All-Star Game Home Run, but it was well worth the wait. Your first at bat in your last All-Star Game and you send one out of the park. I cannot wait to see you play in person at The Ball Park in Arlington on July 24th. That's right, Dink, Billy, Katie and James are joining Trent and myself for one last chance to see the Iron Man play in person.

Got this one from a friend of mine and I just couldn't pass up posting it. :) A new two-year degree is being offered at your local university that men should take a keen interest in: That's right , in just six quarters, you too can be a real man and earn a MA degree (Male Arts) as well. FIRST YEAR Winter Schedule: Spring Schedule: SECOND YEAR ELECTIVES: (See Electives Below) Winter Schedule: Spring Schedule: Course Electives: Can't wait to see the schedule for a Ph D.
We are leaving for Colorado tomorrow afternoon. I'm so excited; a break from the 90-degree weather will be so nice. My Grandmother's celebrating her 90th Birthday this weekend and all of her children and Grandchildren will be in Denver to help her celebrate. WOW! 90 years, that's a lot to experience. On Saturday a lot of us will be playing in a scramble golf game. I've never played scramble, but it should be a lot of fun. Trent and I even went to the driving range one day last week just to get a little practice in. We don't want to completely embarrass ourselves now do we? We’ll have the laptop so Trent and I plan on keeping up with e-mail and I’ll do my best to blog while I’m gone. I promise. :-)

Gotta love a horoscope like this one:

Thanks for the free medical advice you guys. I'm actually doing much better today. I tried to stay active all day yesterday just to stay loosened up. I iced my thighs again last night before I went to bed and woke up feeling pretty good this morning. I swam yesterday and today just to try to keep things going. I feel much, much better. The good news is I will have the next 2 weeks off, I'll be on vacation and won't be playing softball. The bad news is I have the next 2 weeks off and I won't be playing any softball. I plan on staying active on vacation. I'm playing in a Golf Tournament next Saturday and I'll be going on plenty of walks in the beautiful Boulder weather. A high of 85 is way better than a high of 98 in my book any day. :)

I am sooo in pain right now. I played Softball last night and now have matching injuries. I had gone to the batting cages wed. with a friend in preparation of last nights game. While batting in the cages I apparently pulled or stretched in a very bad way my inner thigh on my right leg. It's what the guys call a groin pull I believe. Anyway, last night during my first at bat, I hit the ball and take off running towards first base. I apparently pulled the groin in the left leg when I took my first step off of the plate. I felt it as soon as I started to run, but I continued on to first base where I was thrown out. I played the rest of the game in a lot of pain. I was actually afraid to sit down because I knew as soon as I quite moving around I'd probably not be able to move again. The game went into extra innings of course. We lost by one run, of course. ;-) I arrive back at home and instantly hit the couch with an ice bag between my thighs. The ice and the tequila did help, but today I'm really tight. I'll try stretching later if I feel better and the Ibuprofen kicks in. Guess that's what I get for being an old out of shape 30 something trying to act like a kid again. :)

Exactly what I need to brighten my day...Hockey News!!! Let's see, the Stars mini camp in Vail is only about a month away maybe I can go again this year. We were in Colorado last August and actually spent an afternoon in Vail while the Stars were there. I was totally like a kid in a candy store as we walked through the square at Vail. Every where I looked I was seeing Stars, literally. I was pointing out all of the players to Trent as they would walk by us. It was lunch time and they were all having lunch at the different shops and restaurants on the square at Vail. I saw Coach Hitchcok, Brenden Morrow ( one of my favorites), Eddie Belfour, Richard Matvichuck (another favorite) , Derian Hatcher, Mike Kean, Mike Madano and I'll never forget talking with Darryl Sydor. It was a great afternoon.
Ok, my Husbands boss sent this to me and seeing how he is Canadian and my Husbands boss... Happy Belated Canada Day... So, what do Canadians have to be proud of? 2. Crispy Crunch & Coffee Crisp 3. Then we burned it...and most of Washington, under the command of William Lyon McKenzie who was insane and hammered all the time. We got bored because they ran away, so we came home and partied .. Go figure.!!!! 11. Canada has the largest French population that never surrendered to Germany. 12. We have the largest English population that never ever surrendered or withdrew during any war to anyone, anywhere. 13. Our civil war was a bar fight that lasted a little over an hour. 14. We invented ski-doos, jet-skis, velcro, zippers, insulin, penicillin, zambonis, the telephone and short wave radios that save countless lives each year. 21. We ALL have frozen our tongues to something metal and lived to tell about it.

You consider yourself a true Strange Brew fan? Take the quiz and see how well you do. How about getting caught up on the latest edition of The Hoser. Finishing up with the Canadian theme...my Husband sent me this one. What a couple of Hosers.

A group of us celebrated Canada Day yesterday at a local Canadian owned Restaurant by having Labat's Blue (pronounced Labat without the s) and Chinook Salmon. It was a smaller group than last year, I guess that's because there were only 3 Canadians left to help us celebrate. Everyone else has gone back home to the much cooler climate. Guess it was a little too hot here in Hells Kitchen..um, I mean...Dallas TX. MRrk and Mark, you were missed. We were told that next years festivities will actually be held in Canada. Trent and I are saving up now for the invasion..um, I mean...flight.
As a designer, I'm always looking for inspiration. I think I'm going to subscribe and see where it takes me.
